What it is
A Screen-Free Countdown
The Squishy Dumpling Advent Calendar offers a tactile, screen-free way to count down the days until Christmas. Produced by Claus Keepsakes, this toy-based calendar replaces traditional daily chocolate treats with blind-box sensory surprises. It is designed for parents and grandparents seeking an interactive morning ritual for kids that avoids a sudden rush of sugar or an immediate turn to electronic devices.
Daily Tactile Surprises
Starting on December 1st, children open one of the 24 pre-cut doors each day to reveal a new, colorful character. Every slot contains a unique squishy dumpling dressed in holiday-themed gear, including miniature Santa hats, reindeer antlers, and tiny trees. The calendar contains exactly 24 distinct collectibles, avoiding the use of generic filler toys so that children can build a complete, displayable set by Christmas Eve.
The toys are crafted from a durable, non-toxic foam that provides immediate sensory feedback. This slow-rise material yields to gentle pressure in the hand before slowly puffing back to its original shape. For children, this tactile action offers a calming, focused activity that encourages quiet imaginative play rather than high-energy disruption during busy December mornings.
Safety and Care
As a child-focused product, the calendar is allergy-friendly and recommended for children ages three to ten. The slow-rising foam is specifically designed for gentle squeezing, and safety guidelines note that the toys are not meant for hard pulling or chewing. Maintenance is straightforward: the figures can be wiped down with a damp, soapy cloth to keep them clean throughout the season. Purchases are backed by the manufacturer's 90-day money-back guarantee.

Editor’s Review
What it is, key features, and what you get.
A Calmer Morning Routine
December mornings with young kids often start with a sugar rush or an immediate request for screen time. This calendar redirects that early-morning excitement into a quiet, tactile activity. Instead of chocolate, children open one of the daily pre-cut doors to find a new slow-rising foam character, creating a calmer countdown ritual before the day begins.
Designed for children ages three to ten, the toy provides a satisfying daily sensory experience. The slow-rise foam yields to gentle pressure and slowly puffs back to its original shape, giving little hands a focused task. It is a practical fit for parents and grandparents looking to reduce holiday sweets without losing the magic of a daily surprise.
What You Get
- 24 unique characters: No filler toys or duplicates. Every slot holds a distinct, colorful dumpling in holiday gear like miniature Santa hats, reindeer antlers, or tiny trees.
- Sugar-free countdown: Replaces traditional daily treats with a lasting, allergy-friendly collectible.
- Built for display: By Christmas Eve, children have a complete set of 24 collectibles to arrange and engage with long after the season ends.
Care and Guarantee

Claus Keepsakes backs the purchase with a 90-day money-back guarantee, and the seller's current direct offer includes up to 70% off the listed price.
